When a Cotswold kennels and cattery commissioned Ezi Klamp to supply and install our popular DDA handrail, we were pleased to take on the project.

The Project: To supply and install a professional barrier solution

Set in the glorious rural location of the Cotswolds, Hydegate is a renowned pet resort where cats and dogs receive the highest standards of care. With open fields for exercise and climate-controlled apartments that set a new standard for pet boarding, Hydegate’s popularity means there is always plenty of footfall as owners arrive to drop off or collect their animals.

Hydegate takes the safety of visitors as seriously as the comfort of its residents, so when management approached Ezi Klamp to discuss a barrier solution for the resort’s walkways, we thought hard about what was best. Ultimately, it was decided that our popular DDA handrail would be ideal, keeping Hydegate compliant with the latest access regulations, reducing the risk of slips and trips, while complementing the resort’s attractive country setting.

The Solution: A tailor-made DDA handrail design

Following a visit to Hydegate and briefing from management, the Ezi Klamp team set about creating a DDA handrail design that worked perfectly for the site. As well as being fully compliant with the access demands of the Disability Discrimination Act and Building Regulations 2010 Part M, DDA handrail has plenty of advantages over other barrier solutions. It’s tough and stable, while all that’s required for installation is a standard allen key (no need for the cost and disruption of onsite welding).

Plus, with all the necessary DDA handrail fittings at our fingertips from our dedicated Bristol warehouse, we were able to adapt our DDA handrail design to the dimensions and gradients of the site. On request, we completed the resort’s new DDA handrail with a vertical bar infill guardrail, and finished off with a smart country green polyester powder coating that is both attractive and satisfies the not-cold-to-touch feel set out by legislation. It’s all part of Ezi Klamp’s personal service, with our unrivalled experience letting us offer bespoke solutions that our rivals can’t match.

With the project completed, we left the management at Hydegate with the peace of mind that comes from knowing their new DDA handrail will keep this exceptional pet resort safe, secure and compliant with the regulations for many years to come.
